The Salon

The brief was retail display without retail fittings. Instead of hanging shelving on the wall, we formed an arched recess into it and lit the reveal, so the product sits inside the architecture and the niche throws soft light back into the space.

The reception desk answers the arch with a radius of its own in white oak, floated on a brass plinth so it reads as a piece of furniture rather than a counter.

Walls are polished plaster in a warm neutral, which keeps the room quiet enough that colour on the shelves is the only thing competing for attention.
